 Essay:

The man who married himself

            This article talks about the story of a man who decided to get married to himself. Maybe it was because he felt lonely, maybe he felt an attraction to himself or maybe he was just curious and wanted to explore something different. People don’t take you seriously when you do something as odd as marrying yourself.

First his mother wouldn’t take him seriously, she asked him things like “why marry-you can’t you just live with yourself?” or about what he would wear for the wedding. Then his father went mad and for years wrote nonsense to news journals. Not even his friends took him seriously; still he went for it. After all maybe he started to realize that what he did was very odd and seemed as “crazy”. But it wasn’t until he craved a child that he decided to divorce which was not that easy; I think it was there that he knew he had made a mistake by marrying himself. It took him almost ten years to find a wife who didn’t think wrong of him, something somewhat expected considering all the bad media that he got.

After all I think it was a bad idea. It was a huge decision and he just went for it without knowing how it would affect him and those around. But everyone’s life is there one and he made his decision no matter what everyone thought, if they laughed or not and that was very brave of him.
